 Moving from Handouts to Handshakes

Craig Gray and his network of associate executive consultants help corporate executives develop disability-related business opportunities and not-for-profit organizations improve operational performance and develop new revenue streams. Their expertise encompasses strategic and operational planning, relationship development, project management, and cause marketing property development. Gray founded Gray Management Consulting, LLC in 1998.

With more than 30 years of management experience, Craig combines his expertise in business and his knowledge of the disability-related market to unlock potential and cultivate value-based partnerships. Craig, a 1998 Paralympian, is adamant that an even playing field begins with a handshake and not a hand-out. All of Gray Consulting's associate consultants share this view, whether they have a disability or not.

Gray’s own professional background includes executive-level experience at large insurance and retail corporations. He has consulted with state and federal agencies, non-profit organizations, and many small businesses. He has managed projects for the White House, the Health Insurance Association of America, and the U.S. Olympic Committee. He led corporate strategic and operational planning teams, and developed disability-related benefits management, customer service, and marketing programs for Unum America, a multi-national, Fortune 500 Company and continues to work with numerous clients in the disability insurance industry. Craig has served as a planning consultant for U.S. Paralympics and all of the major Disabled Sports Organizations operating in the United States. At the National Organization on Disability, Gray served as Director of EmployAbility Programs and Web Site Operations.

Craig is recognized for his presentation and group facilitation skills. He has been the keynote speaker at several national and regional conferences. He testified before the U.S. House of Representatives in support of the Ticket to Work and Work Incentives Improvement Act of 1999 and at the United Nations in 2001. He frequently contributes articles to national publications.

Craig was appointed to the President’s Committee on Employment of People with Disabilities. He has served on the boards of Maine Handicapped Skiing, Northeast Passage, and the Southern Maine Regional Transportation Program; he is a former trustee of the Unum Foundation. He is a Governor of the Prudential Northeast Sled Hockey League.
